It’s hard to believe that it has been 10 years since we launched Q.bo in 2010 !!!

As the decade pass, it is good to look back in retrospect in considered fashion on how far we have come since we first introduce Q.bo to the world. Guileless as it was, Q.bo formed the baseline on the kind of social robots we wanted people to have.
We will say it upfront. The past 10 years had not been easy for us. We rose from the ashes of the Great Recession to the Great Lock-Down caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic. Through the last decade, we have seen many promising start-ups in the social robotics space that has folded despite strong funding. As a part of the robotics community, we were disappointed at these outcomes.
CLOUD COMPUTING
In particular, it was tough for us as we are boot strapped all the way. We have not obtained external funding and we worked as a small team to bring this project to the market.
Regardless, we are proud of our achievement, having Q.bo to be among the first robot in the world to recognize itself in the mirror, which was widely published and had a mention on BBC. We have also demonstrated how two robots in different location share information over the cloud. Our team have big plans for Q.bo but we have to move in a more gradual pace as we are mainly self-funded.
Fast forward to 2020 and much has changed. Today we’re a company with people in Europe and Asia. Over the years we have worked with hundreds of companies around the world, making Q.bo platform available to them for their work. While our mission remains immutable, our technology certainly has not. We have made countless enhancements and improvements to our hardware and software to create the best possible platform to meet your needs.
And just as we have updated our hairstyles, today we are thrilled to unveil a new look and feel for our company. Our new identity is more than a pretty face. The new look represents our vision for the future. For example, the fresh typeface in our new logo signifies our love of beautiful writing, while the blue arrow in the “x” symbolizes the momentum and singular direction we move in.
