We are pleased to inform you that we have come to a working arrangement with Mycroft AI Inc to have their Open Source Voice Assistant available to all Q.bo One users.  In order to facilitate that, we have recently concluded an agreement on the use of their trademark as future Q.bo will come with Mycroft AI’s voice assistant installed.  Existing users will be given instruction in the near future on how they can install Mycroft to their Q.bo One.  There are no charges for this installation although users are encouraged to sign up for premium membership to help support the building of the technology.

Mycroft is the world’s first free and open-source voice assistant for Linux-based operating systems that uses a natural user interface.  Its code was formerly copyleft but it is now under a permissive license.  The best part of this is that your conversation is kept completely private and not tracked for further marketing.

Mycroft AI is undergoing an exciting moment as the platform’s capabilities is growing exponentially.  The Developer Community is constantly working on new skills while assuring and improving the quality of existing ones.  For users, new skills can be added easily to Q.bo through your laptop or smartphone. 

We are excited to have Q.bo One work with Mycroft AI.  It is in our hope that our work together will bring open voice assistive AI further and wider.
