Using Microphone and Speakers on QBO Robot for other applications

Hi! I'm facing issues with the microphone and speakers while using web Skype on the QBO robot (OpenQBOv3). I tried all different options for mic/speaker but can't hear any sound nor is the mic working. I'm also not getting any sound when playing videos on a web browser. It would be helpful if you guide with electrical schematics, how microphone and speakers work in relation to the robot. Lastly, I would appreciate instructions on temporarily suspending speech recognition and robot speech so that I can use Skype web without any interruptions. Thank you for your assistance.

listen.py script throwing warnings and not sinking audio to robot

I am looking for guidance on how to run my custom app alongside the QBO app which should be running in the background. My app is always on the main screen, and I would like to know if there is a shell script that I can call to start the QBO app from within my app.

Previously, I tried manually picking some scripts and running them, such as QBO_PiFaceFast, which works fine and starts tracking face. However, when I try to run QBO_Listen.sh, it gives me the following error:

If you can give some technical insight how listen.py script work and is it expecting audio input over ble? as i can see blueAlsa library, so please guide me, i need to use dialog flow.

For context, I am using QBOv3 running on rpi3 and QBO robot.

can you connect an Audio input (mic 2 or mic 3 on the board) where the robot acts as an acoustic box and the LEDs in the mouth light up, in all robot modes?

if yes can you give me the command of the terminal to enable this function?

Webserver won't run

Hello ya'll

I've had a Qbo One for a while and finally decided to boot it up again after a long time. The last time I played with it was before Dialogflow officially went to V2.

I updated the Qbo using the install.sh file from Gitlab. I then followed this guide to setup Dialogflow V2: https://gitlab.com/thecorpora/QBO/blob/master/manuals/DialogFlowV2.md

The issue that I am having is that when I try to access the webserver to configure Qbo I can't open it. I can VNC into the robot and open the web browser and surf the internet no problem. When I do a nmap scan on the ports, port 8000 is not open.

How I can I troubleshoot and get the webserver running?

Problems with new Q.bo One

Hello. I have set up a new Q.bo One. I was unable to get it to respond to the qr code in any way, but on connecting a monitor, keyboard and mouse, I was able to set up wi-fi manually. I ran the set up utility and put the device in scratch mode, and observe the following:

left and right touch sensors work
audio output works
movement up, down, left, right all work
green and blue nose settings work
mouth smile works
red nose setting does not work -- it goes to black
there seems to be no recognition of any sound, and no recognition of any camera input
I tried different lighting, etc

Is there any basic hardware troubleshooting utility where I can see / test the raw camera input? See / record / test the microphone input?

There may have been some rough handling in shipping. The carton was a little crushed on the bottom. The external case was not perfectly seated when the unit arrived. I opened the base, but I have not yet tried opening the "head" of the unit. I can do so with your guidance to check wires, etc., but I am wondering if there is a software test suite I can use before that?

Is there is a way to have Q.Bo look forward instead of slightly up like he does currently? i have him on my desk at eye level but he always ends up losing us and looking up, would like it if i can change it so he looks forward instead?

I have trouble getting qbo to work. Neither the qr code scan worked. so its on a direct cable now and now next step also fails on both SSH and VNC. I get the error message above. What am I doing incorrect?

Qbo V3.0 + Rsync = crash

Hi! I'm trying to setup rsync on the Q.bo with the V3,0 software on it, in order to be able to test my code quickly and easily. However, as soon as I install rsync on Q.bo it will not reboot anymore. This was not the case using the previous software version. I double-checked that rsync was the culprit by reinstalling the V3.0 software and only installing rsync. Has anyone encountered the same problem, and/or knows a solution?

Power Supply

Just getting my QBO setup after having it sit on my desk for a few weeks and I'm checking that I've picked up the right power supply from under my desk.

The one I've got outputs 12V 500mA . It's labelled DC-PACK model VFK-1250B1.

Is this the right one?

If not, what voltage should it be/ or is there parts listing somewhere that I could have looked at? I can't see anything on gitlab.
